2013 Trifecta Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2013 growing season was a dream vintage for a winemaker, characterized by a dry spring and the earliest harvest in years it will go down in history for stunning wines rich in color with outstanding complexity. The vines graced us with large bunches of small berries with intense flavors, refined tannins, deep concentration, superb acidity and complex structure.
Young, dense, plush, ultra concentrated and ripe, this wine combines both ripeness with freshness, with a long finish that will evolve beautifully and effortlessly with age. With its un-apologetically inky, deep, reddish-purple color, it exhibits the vintage’s attractive notes of spice box, cocoa, supple, well-balanced generous fruit without excess. Notes of black cherry, cassis, blackberry, a little plum, toast, spicy oak, sage, vanilla, hints of cedar with purity and a long, soft, round, velvety, fine grained tannic finish.
This is a deliciously distinctive Cabernet Sauvignon possessing power, density, and complexity, but also restraint and equilibrium. It is very approachable (even though young) right now; but if you can exert patience and allow it to age, you will be rewarded.
