Joe Andruzzi Foundation

We were thrilled to support Joe Andruzzi, guard on Patriots Super Bowl teams and fellow Patriot Football players at the New England Celebrities Tackle Cancer Gala November 2010 in Boston. Joe and his wife Jen, are committed to helping tackle cancers impact by providing financial assistance or patients and their families as well as help fund pediatric brain cancer research.

The Trifecta live auction package consisted of a limited bottling of a double magnum of 2007 Trifecta Cabernet Sauvignon, etched with the foundation¹s logo and autographed by Joe, as well as generous donations from our friends at Joseph Phelps, Grassi, the Donelan Family, Honig and Staglin Vineyard, helped raise significant dollars to the cause.

Jen and Joe Andruzzi were active locally during Joe’s football career with the New England Patriots. That included visiting patients to lift their spirits. Meeting a young man named C.J. Buckley a month after he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor touched their hearts in an unusual way. C.J. and his family became extended family members to the Andruzzis and his passing left a hole in their hearts. In 2003, the Andruzzis started the C.J. Buckley Brain Cancer Research Fund at Children’s Hospital Boston years before battling cancer became personal.

In May 30, 2007, Joe was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Burkitt’s lymphoma, predicted to double in size within 24 hours. He had an aggressive chemotherapy treatment over several months both at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Joe fought the disease with strength and courage helped by the support of his own family, the Buckley family, friends, doctors and nurses by his side. Thankfully, Joe was told that there was no sign of cancer in his body by the fall of 2007 and remains cured today.

We invite you to explore the official Joe Andruzzi Foundation website to read about the inspiring work being done in this amazing organization.
