2014 Trifecta Russian River Pinot Noir
...and rainfall totals in California were approximately half of normal. However, the timing could not have been better: heavy rains in late February and early March gave a much-needed drink of water to the vines as they were emerging from dormancy and about to begin bud break. With a warm spring and summer, the benefit of the drought was that berry sizes were smaller and had more concentrated flavors, which contributed to the overall quality of the 2014 harvest.
The 2014 Trifecta Pinot Noir opens up with aromas of red currant, raspberry, red licorice and clove with floral notes of rose petal and caramel. The flavors begin with bright and structured fruit flavors dominated by red cherry that broaden on the palate leading to a rich and elegant finish.

100% Pinot Noir Clone 115, Pommard, and 777
The clusters were destemmed and then cold soaked 48 hours before inoculation. The wine spent a total of 16 days on the skins before it was drained off and racked into French oak barrels. The wine was aged for 18 months in 33% new French oak.
